Abstract: Chronic pharyngitis in children belongs to the category of Pharyngitis in Traditional Chinese Medicine according to its clinical manifestation.It is more common with pharyngitis of asthenic-fire，which is mostly due to the reoccurrence of acute throat paralysis，resulting in disfunction of viscera and inflammation caused by deficiency fire.Professor Shi believes that combined with the children′s physical characteristics，syndrome of intermingled deficiency and excess is the most common type in chronic pharyngitis for children，which is mainly related to the congenital weakness of Lung，Spleen as well as Kidney，and acquired imbalance of qi，blood，yin and yang result from losing care after birth.Whether the therapy is based on deficiency and excess of viscera and the treatment of yin，yang，qi and blood，the therapeutic principle of it should be focused on addressing both the manifestation and root cause as well as strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil.
