Abstract:

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of core stability training on upper limb function in children with spastic cerebral palsy.MethodsTotally 60 children with spastic cerebral palsywho were admitted to Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital from January to December in 2019were selected as research subjects. They were randomly divided into two groupsexperimental group and control groupwith each group having 30 cases. The children in control group received routine PT,OT,massage and sensory integrationtraining. In addition to the treatment for control groupthe children in experimental group received the core stability training. The treatment lasted for 3 months for both groups.Peabody fine motor development scale(PDMS-FM) and Carroll hand function scale were used to evaluate the efficacy on upper limb function in the two groups before and after 3 months of treatment, and the difference in the effect was compared.ResultsThe scores in graspingvisual motor in PDMS-FM and Carroll hand function scale were significantly higher after 3 months of treatment than those before treatment(P<0.05), and the efficacy of the treatment for experimental group was better than that for control group(P<0.05).ConclusionCore stability training can significantly improve the upper limb function of children with spastic cerebral palsy.
