Abstract:
This paper has teased out the TCM syndrome classification, treatment methods and medication of ADHD in children based on literature. Evidence-based analysis shows all kinds of literature include the following two syndromes:heart and spleen deficiency and internal disturbance syndrome of phlegm fire. The basic rule of treatment is regulating Yin and Yang. The treatment includes these methods:to be relaxed,to nourish kidney and relieve liver, and to tonify spleen and reduce phlegm. Chinese patent medicines for children with ADHD include classic prescriptions, special medicines and other medicines which are based on theory of same treatment for different diseases, all recorded in literature. The classic prescriptions include Zhibo Dihuang pills, Renshen Guipi pills and Baizi Yangxin pills. Special medicines include Xiaoer Huanglong granules and Jingling oral liquid. The other medicines include Changma Xifeng tablets,Xifeng Zhidong tablets and Bushen Jiannao capsules. Most of Chinese patent medicines focus on liver and kidney Yin deficiency and heart and spleen deficiency. The heart and liver fire syndrome and the wind-phlegm syndrome, which are common syndrome types in clinics, have no corresponding Chinese patent medicine. This study can provide guidance for syndrome differentiation, drug selection and further research and development of Chinese patent medicine for ADHD.
