Abstract:
Objective ：To observe the clinical effect of Xiyanping injection in the treatment of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection.
Methods： A total of 196 children admitted to Sujiatun Central Hospital for acute upper respiratory tract infection between Oct. 2011 to Oct. 2015 were randomly divided into two groups: the control group(98 cases) and the observation group(98 cases).Conventional treatment was given to both groups. In addition, the control group was given ribavirin, while the observation group received Xiyanping injection. The treatment lasted for 3 to 7 days. After treatment, observe the effect, time for cough to improve, time for fever to recede, hospitalization length and adverse reactions in the two groups.
Results： The total effective rate of the observation group was 99.0%(97/98), which was better than the control group(90.8%,89/98), the difference being statistical(P<0.05).The observation group was better in cough improvement, fever recession time and hospitalization length than the control group, with statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no adverse reaction in both groups.
Conclusion： Xiyanping injection has good effect in the treatment of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection, which can shorten the time of signs and symptoms improvement. It is safe and reliable and is worthy of popularization.
