Abstract:
Objective :To observe the effect of family training program by the parents under the guidance of therapists in improving the fine motor ability of children with cerebral palsy.
Methods:A total of 60 children with different types of cerebral palsy in Liaoning Children′s Hospital from Jan.to Dec.2015 were randomly divided into two groups:the observation group(30 cases) and control group(30 cases). The control group was given routine rehabilitation training, while the parents of the observation group were guided to perform family training program at home by using Peabody Motor Development Scale(2nd edition)(PDMS-2) in addition to the routine training, once a day,30 minutes per time. After 6 months of treatment, compare the effect and the change of fine motor quotient(FMQ) between the two groups.
Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 90.0%(27/30),significantly higher than that of the control group(66.7%,20/30),and the difference was of statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment, the FMQ of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group, the difference being statistical(P<0.05).
Conclusion:The combination treatment of family training performed by parents with the rehabilitation treatment can obviously improve the fine motor ability of children with cerebral palsy.
