Abstract: Epilepsy is one of the common encephalopathies in children. Traditional Chinese medicine has obvious curative effect and advantages in treating epilepsy. This article mainly introduces Professor Zhang Shiqing's experience in treating infantile epilepsy with traditional Chinese medicine. According to the characteristics of epilepsy, Professor Zhang concluded that wind, phlegm and blood stasis are the key pathological factors for the occurrence and recurrent seizures of epilepsy. Phlegm and blood stasis obstruction and stagnation of brain orifices are the key pathogenesis for the occurrence and recurrent seizures of epilepsy. External wind-induced movement or internal liver wind-induced movement caused by body viscera imbalance are the important inducements for the occurrence and recurrent seizures of epilepsy. Based on wind-phlegm and stasis theory, the prescription of Pingxian granules is to promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis, reduce phlegm and prevent spasm, so as to prevent seizures.
