Abstract: Objective:To explore the effect of transtheoretical model based health education combined with antiepileptic drugs on serum cytokines and self-esteem levels in children with epilepsy.
Methods:A total of 74 children newly diagnosed with epilepsy who were admitted to our hospital from February to October 2019 were selected as the research subjects and were randomly divided into control group and observation group with 37 cases each. Both groups were given antiepileptic drugs;the control group was given regular health education, and the observation group was given health education based on a transtheoretical model. After continuous intervention for 3 months, the serum cytokine levels and self-esteem levels of the two groups were observed.
Results:The interleukin-2,interleukin-6 and tumor cytokine alpha of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the self-esteem scale score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
Conclusion:Health education combined with anti-epileptic drugs based on a transtheoretical model can significantly improve the white blood cell level of children with newly diagnosed epilepsy, reduce serum cytokine levels, and improve self-esteem,which is of great significance to children′s early integration into society.
