Abstract: Director Ni Juxiu, based on her longterm accumulation of clinical experience, has come to the belief that the etiology and pathogenesis of pertussis in children are the exogenous disease inducing phlegm, which interact with each other, resulting in the blocking of air tube. The differentiated treatment is adopted, and the treatment of spasmodic cough is especially important. The treatment should focus on the cause of the disease instead of the symptoms, and the phlegmheat is the main cause in spasmodic cough; therefore, the treatment aims to relieve lung and remove phlegm, and San'ao decoction and Zhike powder with modification are used in clinical treatment. In addition, acupunction and point application are used as external therapy, which has achieved significant effect and greatly shortens the disease course.
