Abstract: Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of lower limb herb bathing combined with wax therapy for spastic cerebral palsy.
Methods:Sixty cerebral palsy children with spastic quadriplegia and diplegia, who were treated in Shenyang Children's Hospital from June 2017 to June 2019, were included as the research subjects, and they were randomly divided into control group(n=30) and observation group(n=30). Both groups received comprehensive rehabilitation training and wax therapy, and the observation group received additional lower limb herb bathing. Both groups were treated for 90 days as a course, for 2 courses. The effect was evaluated by gross motor function measurement(GMFM-88) before treatment, and at the end of one and two courses respectively.
Results:The GMFM:-88 score was increased after treatment in both groups, and it was higher in observation group than in control group after one course and two courses of treatment(P<0.05). The total effective rate and the rate of obvious effect were both higher in observation group than in control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion:In the treatment of spastic cerebral palsy, the combination of conventional rehabilitation training with lower limb herb bathing and wax therapy, which is the combination of traditional Chinese therapy with the modern rehabilitation treatment, has significant clinical effect.
