Abstract: Amblyopia is a common eye disease in children during their visual development, and if it is not treated effectively and in a timely manner, it may lead to lifelong poor vision. At present, the main western medicine treatment methods used in clinical practice are refractive correction, masking therapy, suppression therapy, visual function training, and medicine treatment. In traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment methods include acupuncture, massage, moxibustion and Chinese medicines. In this paper, we review the methods of treatment for amblyopia in western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and combined Chinese and western medicine and discuss whether there are other treatment ideas.
