Abstract: Tic disorder is one of the most common neuropsychiatric diseases in children in clinical practice, which does great harm to children's physical and mental health. External therapy with traditional Chinese medicine, represented by acupuncture and massage, has some special advantages in the treatment of tic disorder in children, but it needs to be further standardized. This consensus covers the terms and definitions of tic disorder in children, the diagnosis, etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and technological standards of external therapy with traditional Chinese medicine, and summarizes the modern medical experience and the advances in evidence-based medicine of this disease. This consensus highlights the clinical practicality and reflects the latest research progress, which helps to improve the level of clinical standardization of external therapy for tic disorder in children with traditional Chinese medicine.
