Abstract: Objective:To explore clinical significance of the serum lactate clearance rate and calcitonin in pediatric septic shock. Methods:Totally 44 cases of septic shock patients were selected from January 2014 to May 2015 as the research object in pediatric intensive care units of our hospital.According to the disease situation they were divided into non-critical group and critical group;according to the different outcomes of patients, they were divided into survival group(34 cases)and death group(10 cases). The serum lactate clearance rate and calcitonin of two groups were compared, and their correlation was analyzed. Results:Serum lactate clearance rate of non-critical group was obviously higher than that of critical group, the difference being statistically significant(P<005);calcitonin level of non-critical group was significantly lower than that of critical group, the difference being statistically significant(P<005);lactate clearance rate of death group was obviously lower than that of the survival group, the difference being statistically significant(P<005);the level of calcitonin of death group was obviously higher than that of the survival group, the difference being statistically significant(P<005);serum lactate clearance rate and calcitonin showed a negative correlation(P<005). Conclusion:It has important clinical significance to monitor the levels of serum lactate clearance rate and calcitonin, which can be used as the important indicator of the prognosis in pediatric septic shock.
