Editorial Policy
1. Review System: After submission, the editorial office will conduct a preliminary review of the manuscript. The editorial office will reject manuscripts that are insufficient in originality, have serious scientific or technical mistakes, lack valuable information, or are not in the scope of the journal. Manuscripts that have passed the preliminary review will undergo peer review. The journal adopts a single-blind review system. The manuscript will be sent to at least two peer reviewers. Authors must respond to reviewers' every comment and submit the revised version on time. This process would be repeated until reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript. The editorial office will select manuscripts fairly based on academic quality and the review comments. The editor-in-chief will make the final decision on whether the manuscript will be published.
2. Revision: The content of the manuscript is the author's responsibility. The editorial office reserves the right to make revisions. Authors who do not agree to revisions must clearly state this in advance.
3. Review Period: After receiving the review fee, the journal will provide a review result within 2 to 4 weeks. If the manuscript is accepted, it will generally be published within 4 to 6 months. If no feedback is received within 6 months, authors may handle the manuscript on their own. Do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.
4. Academic Misconduct Detection: To promote academic integrity and maintain the quality and authority of the journal, all submissions will be checked using the CNKI Academic Misconduct Literature Detection System to prevent potential academic misconduct. The overall similarity rate should not exceed 20%, and the similarity rate with any individual article should not exceed 10%. The editorial office will rigorously check for plagiarism, copyright infringement, simultaneous submissions to multiple journals, and other intellectual property violations.
5. Appeals and Discussions: If authors disagree with the review comments, they may submit a written appeal. Authors are required to write a formal letter outlining the manuscript number, providing detailed reasons for the appeal, and offering detailed explanations and clarifications for each review comment. The editorial office will decide whether to accept the appeal based on the specific circumstances. After the article is published, the journal welcomes discussions between authors and readers. The editorial office will process these discussions as soon as possible and provide feedback when appropriate. The journal encourages mutual supervision between readers and authors and actively invites feedback to foster a positive academic atmosphere. Appeals and post-publication discussions can be sent to the journal's email: zxek@163.com.
6. Special Issues and Special Columns: The review process for manuscripts submitted to special issues or columns is the same as that for regular journal submissions. Manuscripts submitted for special issues or columns will undergo the same review and editorial process as regular submissions, and the final decision on acceptance will be made by the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief is responsible for the entire content of the journal, including special issues and columns. When organizing special issues, the editorial department may invite authoritative experts in the field to serve as guest editors. The responsibilities of guest editors include suggesting themes for the special issue, soliciting manuscripts, organizing peer reviews, and addressing any issues that arise during the publication process. The work of guest editors will be supervised by the editor-in-chief to ensure the fairness of the manuscript review process.
7. Internal Submission: Submissions by Editorial Board Members (EBMs) / Editors / Guest Editors must adhere to all journal review and editorial procedures when submitting manuscripts. They shall not participate in the review, editorial work, or acceptance decisions for articles authored by themselves, their family members, or colleagues. Peer review must ensure independence from the relevant authors, editors, and their research groups.
8. Correction and Retraction: After publishing, if there appears to be an unintended scientific mistake in the article that would not lead to significant impacts on the results and conclusion, the editorial office will publish corrections in the journal as soon as possible, and detailing the changes made to the original article. If severe scientific errors are found in published articles, or the article is suspected of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism and data falsification, the editorial office will issue a statement to inform readers of the risks, initiate an investigation, and announce the final result, or even retract the article with a retraction statement if necessary.
