    Abstract ( 118 )   PDF (1092KB) ( 19 )   Save
Enuresis is a common disease in pediatric clinic, its etiology is complex, the course of disease is long, and it is easy to relapse, which has adverse effects on children′s physical and mental health.Modern clinical studies have found that most children with enuresis have occult spina bifida in X-ray examination. In western medicine it is believed that occult spina bifida leads to enuresis in children by causing occult nerve dysfunction at the sacral spinal cord level, weakening bladder function, adding delayed effects of the urination center, causing sleep dyspnea and inhibiting renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. In traditional Chinese medicine the disease is analyzed from the supervision vein and kidney. This paper discusses the correlation between occult spina bifida and enuresis in children and the possible mechanism of action from the aspects of Chinese and western medicine. At the same time, the present treatment methods in Chinese and western medicine and prognosis of children with occult spina bifida are also described. It is hoped that this article can provide some theoretical basis for the future study of enuresis children with occult spina bifida.

    2024, 16 (4):  305-308.
    Abstract ( 154 )   PDF (1065KB) ( 20 )   Save
With the development of society and the influence of the environment, the incidence of tic disorders (TD) has increased year by year in recent years, and it has become one of the more common pediatric diseases in clinical practice. The treatment for TD in western medicine is mainly based on dopamine (DA) and central α2 receptor agonists, combined with psychotherapy, which has certain efficacy, but its adverse reactions make some children intolerant. The holistic concept and treatment based on syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine have significant advantages in safety and efficacy in the prevention and treatment of TD.Single herbs, drug pairs and compounds in traditional Chinese medicine have multi-target and multi-pathway regulatory effects, which are consistent with the core idea of network pharmacology in modern theory. Therefore, network pharmacology methods are gradually being accepted and adopted by traditional Chinese medicine to study its mechanism of action. This paper reviews the research and application progress of network pharmacology in the mechanism of action of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of TD,and expounds the existing problems in the research,in order to provide reference for the application of network pharmacology in the research of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of TD.

    Abstract ( 137 )   PDF (1405KB) ( 29 )   Save
There are many names for infraorbital dark circles in children, which are confusing, and there are few epidemiological studies.Although the local pathology is clear, the fundamental etiology is controversial.Analysis of the local anatomy of the inferior palpebral vein, infraorbital vein, lacrimal venous plexus, facial vein, suborbital space and infraorbital lymph nodes has shown that the possibility of obstruction of infraorbital venous return caused by nasal and adenoid diseases is greater.Traditional Chinese medicine classics have rich discussion on dark circles, and there is a close correlation between the eyes and the five viscera in terms of physiology and pathology, especially the liver, spleen, and kidney. In addition, the meridian theory and the theory of qi,blood and body fluid can also explain this phenomenon, not just "spleen deficiency".Misdiagnosis and missed treatment should be avoided in clinical practice.

Analysis of experience in treating pediatric eczema based on the "visceral collaterals"

    GAO Yiwen, FENG Xiaochun
    2024, 16 (4):  345-348.
    Abstract ( 80 )   PDF (1062KB) ( 16 )   Save
Eczema is a clinically common skin disease with obvious exudative tendency in infants and young children. In recent years, with the application of a large number of biochemicals and the changes in environment, the incidence of eczema in children has gradually increased. The disease is persistent and difficult to cure and has a high recurrence rate, which seriously affects children′s daily diet and sleep, and may also interfere with their growth and development. Therefore, active treatment is needed. The collaterals are the organic channels connecting the internal organs, the external limbs, and the upper and lower parts of the human body, and they are also the channels for the invasion and spread of evil qi.The theory of visceral collaterals originated from the "Huangdi Neijing",and gradually became a theory in the Qing Dynasty after being supplemented and developed by medical practitioners throughout history.Visceral collaterals theory has obvious advantages in treating chronic diseases, persistent diseases, diseases difficult to cure, and skin diseases.Modern doctors do not attach enough importance to the theory of collaterals, and its clinical application is limited;especially, childrens development is usually incomplete, and there are many doctors who dont know how to treat through collaterals. In clinical practice, visceral collaterals theory is used in the differential treatment of childhood diseases, integrating visceral syndrome differentiation with the theory of collateral diseases. It is found that the pathogenesis of this disease is that "the collaterals of spleen and lungs are damaged by dampness and heat",and the disease is divided into three stages and is treated based on syndrome differentiation.During treatment,a combination of internal and external treatment is used, focusing on unblocking the collaterals,so that the dampness and heat can be reduced internally and dispersed externally, which effectively shortens the course of the disease and reduces the pain of children. This provides effective new ideas and methods for the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine in pediatrics.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of Xiaoer Qingre Huaji powder in the prevention and treatment of febrile convulsion in children.MethodsA total of 102 children with febrile convulsion were selected from the pediatric outpatients and inpatients of Zhejiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to December 2022,and they were randomly divided into control group (50 cases) and observation group (52 cases). The control group was given conventional treatment, and the observation group was given oral treatment of Xiaoer Qingre Huaji powder on the basis of the the treatment for control group. The two groups were observed continuously for 3 days, and relevant indicators were collected.Three months was set as a follow-up course.During the follow-up,the control group was given diazepam to prevent convulsion, and the observation group was given Xiaoer Qingre Huaji powder to prevent convulsion, and they were followed up for 1 year. The time of fever relief, the number of recurrent convulsions, and the change in TCM syndrome score before and after treatment were counted. The number of convulsions in the two groups during follow-up was counted.ResultsThe body temperature of the two groups were decreased with treatment time, with the observation group being lower than the control group at 6h,24h,48h and 72h of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).During the whole process of treatment, the fever was effectively controlled in the observation group, and the the number of reaching peak (body temperature≥39 ) was 0.53±0.62,significantly lower than the control group (1.65±2.72);in the 72 hours of treatment, the difference was statistical (P<0.05).At the same time, the TCM syndrome score was significantly lower than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions (P>0.05) between the two groups. The two groups were followed up for 1 year, the observation group did not have convulsion, while the control group had (0.55±0.55) times of convulsion, the observation group being significantly better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).ConclusionXiaoer Qingre Huaji powder is effective in preventing and treating febrile convulsion in children. It can shorten the fever duration, significantly reduce the frequency of recurrent convulsion, and prevent febrile convulsion recurrence effectively, which is worth clinical promotion and application.

Pediatric anorexia is one of the most common spleen and stomach diseases in pediatrics, which is common in the children aged 1 to 6 years, and its incidence is increasing year by year.Long-term anorexia will result in immunodeficiency, repeated respiratory infection, malnutrition, growth and development retardation and sleep disorders, which does damage to physical and mental health of children and their development. In western medicine it is believed that the disease is mainly related to diet habits, feeding methods and natural environment. The treatment of traditional Chinese medicine is based on the differentiated diagnosis and treatment,so it has great advantages over western medicine treatment.Professor Sun Liping is good at treating the disease by starting from the overall concept, taking the symptoms and signs as the superficial manifestations and the constitution as the root cause, and the treatment based on the constitution theory has achieved good results in the children with pediatric anorexia.

Childhood anorexia is a common disease with frequent onset.Professor Ju Wei believes that childhood anorexia is mainly due to the middle jiao stagnation of diet, excessive intake of cold drugs, and the inactivation of liver and spleen.Practically the cause of the disease is still the spleen dysfunction.Based on careful study of the pathogenesis, the treatment should focus on promoting digestion, clearing heat, soothing liver, and activating blood circulation. For the children with stagnation,Xihuang powder combined with Sanxian decoction should be used. For those with food stagnation and depression,Baohe pills combined with Zengye decoction should be used. For the chronic cases with congestion,Yigong powder combined with Siwu decoction can be used. For the children with liver depression,Sini powder is used.In the course of medication, the guidance of living habits is effective.
